The Story of…

theknittinggallery Collaboration

A departure from Hurtado’s usual conceptual designs, this collection was more emotional and personality-based—in other words, “business but make it cunty.” She combined traditional office attire (suits, slacks, waistcoats) with hand-knit tops of exceptional construction, flavored with “70s” flair and ragged textures that contrast the smooth businesswear.

To ensure maximum sustainability, Hurtado sourced oversized suits and altered them, transforming them into skirts and vests. While not as conceptual as other collections, it presents an intriguing combination of “power aesthetics,” putting them in conversation, presenting the wide spectrum of how self-confident authority presents itself.

This collection was presented at Club Epic in South Korea in February 2025, during a show produced in collaboration with theknittinggallery.
