The Gorgeous Ladies of Shock Treatment

Born from Ms. Hurtado’s love of wrestling and fascination with the human body’s potential for strength and growth, the Gorgeous Ladies of Shock Treatment is a tribute to the strength of wrestling icons like Chyna and Rea Ripply.

Shorts: All shorts were made from spandex to provide comfort and the mobility necessary to leap from the top rope. This foundation of practicality runs through the whole collection, supporting the “lighter” stylistic flourishes.

Tops: The tops are constructed using corset boning with an inner layer of fabric for comfort and a partially hand-knit outer layer. [The vine-like pattern of the blue top was developed by Ms. Hurtado during freehand experimentation with swatches and has since become a signature, appearing in every collection.] These tops balance the delicacy of knitwear and the sturdiness of traditional corset structure, embodying the dynamic character of feminine strength.

Hardware: Rings and chains accentuate each piece, adding detail without sacrificing the “functional” character of the collection.

The Gorgeous Ladies of Shock Treatment debuted at The English Hotel in Las Vegas, summer 2025, at a show produced by theknittinggallery. All pieces were hand-made using traditional, sustainable methods.
